One of the most beautiful venues in downtown Indianapolis is the Omni Severin Hotel. Alicia and Sam selected the Omni as the location for both their wedding ceremony & reception. They originally planned for their wedding celebration to occur in October 2020, however, it had to be delayed by a year. While they had to put off their wedding celebration, it was certainly a day that they, along with their friends and family, will remember for the rest of their lives.
One of the highlights of many weddings, is the big reveal of when the doors open and everyone sees the bride for the very first time. Generally, the bride will hide somewhere until that big moment arises! As you can see in the first picture above, Alicia and her dad Trevor, shared a special moment right before those doors open! This moment was captured perfectly by their photographer Emma Males Photography
Their ceremony was full of many memorable moments that included special readings and plenty of humor! They also included one of the most unique unity items that I have ever witnessed. During their unity ceremony, they had their brothers pour both wine and Bacardi liquor, into one glass, to symbolize our joining of families. They each each a drank from the glass to pronounce not only their unity as one new family, but the party was definitely going to be ON that night!

You could tell that Sam and Alicia picked the right crew for their wedding party. They were such a fun and supportive group all day long. They also absolutely tore it up on the dance floor, which you will see later. When it came to taking pictures, lets just say, they understood the assignment.
The Omni has a stunning staircase where the wedding party entered the wedding reception. Before dinner, Sam gave a quick speech welcoming everyone and gave a heartfelt thank you to all their guests. After dinner, they cut their beautiful wedding cake, which was decorated in flowers from their wedding. Do you think Alicia smashed the cake on Sam? Look at the picture above and guess!

Cake: Paper Rings by Taylor Swift
Sam & Alicia's wedding featured four toasts, running the gambit of sharing great stories, making people laugh and maybe a few tears too. Some of the highlights included the Best Man Mark, comparing their relationship to the Lord of the Rings, and Alicia's dad showing off his dog socks!
One of the unique features of the Omni, is that couples get to use their amazing ballroom for both the ceremony and dancing. While everyone was enjoying cocktails and dinner, their staff was hard at work flipping the room. After dinner, everyone made there way back to the ballroom for the first dances. Alicia and Sam choose to add dancing on a cloud, for their first dance. As you can see from the picture above, it looked absolutely stunning in the main ballroom.
After their first dance, came the traditional parent first dances. During Angie and Sam's dance, everyone started signing along with the song the selected while they danced!
Alicia & Sam first dance: Black & White (Acoustic version) by Niall Horan
Father (Trevor) & Daughter Dance: I My Wish by Rascal Flatts
Mother (Angie) & Son Dance: Drops of Jupiter by Train
We open up the dance floor with a classic slow song, in a special dance that I call the "Love Dance". This gave Alicia and Sam the opportunity to share a special first dance, surrounded by all love from their guests.
Love Dance: Your Song
From the moment the dance floor opened to the end of the night, the dance floor was packed full of energy and fun! The pictures above captured some of the amazing dance floor action! Special thank you to Emma Males Photography for capturing all these great moments!
Other Special Songs Played:
Anniversary Dance: Faithfully by Journey
Halloween Mix: Thriller/ Superstition / I want Candy
At around 9:30, we planned surprise for all their guests! We turned out the lights and started the song "Thriller" and used the cloud machine to roll a cloud over the dance floor. When the lyrics started, the lights came on, and the guests went crazy. Unfortunately, there were not any pictures or videos taken.
Everyone rocked the party to the very end! At the end of the night, everyone made a HUGE circle, and belted out the words to a classic sing along song. Watch the video or scroll down to find out the song!
Check out the video highlights below and you will see the big finish:
Final Dance: Take Me Home Country Roads
Congratulations Alicia and Sam on the most amazing wedding day. While they had to wait a year to celebrate their marriage, there is no doubt, that wait was worth it. Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.
